Older Adult, Youth and Community Services
Youth Development
Hamilton-Madison House offers Youth Development programs for children and teens that provide students with life-enhancing activities that develop life skills to handle everyday stresses effectively and to prepare them for future responsibilities at school, work and home.
Since 2021, Hamilton-Madison House’s Local Initiative Fostering Togetherness program, or LIFT, has helped youth develop leadership skills, pursue common passions and partake in service projects. Activities include community service, composting, fundraising, intergenerational walking clubs, martial arts, podcasting, S.A.T. and college prep, birthday celebrations for seniors, team building, drumming, writing classes, videography and more.
Since 2022, LIFT participants have run a seasonal, weekly farmers market outside of 50 Madison on Sundays from 10am to 3pm. The Market accepts cash, credit/debit, EBT, NYC Health Bucks, WIC and Senior FMNP, and coupons/checks. You can also receive $2 in NYC Health Bucks for every $2 spent in EBT, up to $10 per day. Instead of hate, spread a healthy plate!
Community Services
Hamilton-Madison House strives to create a thriving community, one personal interaction at a time. Whether providing non-English speaking residents with English language, computer, and career skills, or connecting and supporting older adults through a variety of programming, these services help members become more active in their communities.
Older Adult Services
Hamilton-Madison House provides a variety of older adult programs and centers that strive to minimize isolation and depression by helping older adults continue to live as active members of the community. The programs and centers serve more than 5,500 older adults who range from 60-90 years old and who speak eight different languages and dialects. Hamilton-Madison House also provides caregivers and families caring for older adults with resources, information and support to assist their loved ones.
City Hall Older Adult Center
For over 70 years, the City Hall Older Adult Center has been a beacon of high-quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate services for older adults aged 60-plus. Our mission is to promote wellness, independence, and combat social isolation and economic insecurity. Through programs like computer and photography classes, arts clubs, and health management workshops, we empower older New Yorkers to age with dignity in their own community.

Care for Caregivers
Caregivers play a critical role in keeping older adults healthy and engaged. We support caregivers across various areas, including providing information and assistance on benefits and entitlements, including Medicaid, SNAP, SCRIE, HEAP, along with Support Groups that discuss topics which are relevant to seniors’ well-being. We also offer Counseling, Supplemental and Respite care to those clients that require financial and emotional assistance.
Our Caregiver Citywide Program serves informal/unpaid caregivers of older adults, and their loved ones, throughout New York City’s five boroughs. The Citywide program focuses on Asian speaking clients such as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. This site is located at 100 Gold Street, Lower Level.
